It wasn’t too long before the Premier League clubs came calling including Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Fulham. It was here where then England manager, Fabio Capello called Zamara up, winning this first England cap. A prolific striker, over his 17 year career he scored 182 goals in 564 matches.

His big break came in 1998 when he joined then Premier League team, Bolton Wanderers. It was here where he caught the eye of Chelsea, a club he joined in 2000 and where he won three league titles. Gudjohnsen was later signed by giants FC Barcelona, where he won a La Liga title and the UEFA Champions League. He remains Iceland's all-time leading goal scorer.
